I tried boot priority 1 and 2 = cd-rom and usb-cdrom. I had boot3 disabled, and boot4 enabled. (boot 4 for other). I then tried it with boot4 disabled. It didn't work. I then put in hdd-0 for boot3 (it had this setting as boot2 originally). Still, it doesn't work. I had boot enabled this time.
When I ESC the memory test, I tried pressing F1 or F2 to get command line options but nothing showed. Computer also wouldn't let me type in anything. So, anything that looks like a commandline doesn't work.
I was going to try to type in "install". I don't know the commands available - I was guessing. Plus, what does fb mean? Online, I found the command 'install fb=false'.
I also need to know what to enter in the command line to get it to boot from cd-rom, as if my computer would even allow this.
Many thanks!

Update: I went to cmod and put Primary Master to None. Result was that it forced it to read the cdrom. It said something like "failure! Please enter System disk".
I gave up at this point and won't do anything else with it until I get some response.

Update 2:
I found the "Power to go" does NOT burn ISO files properly. So, I reburned using Nero, the program that Sister used to burn the original 7.01 version of Ubuntu, and that should work. When I reinstalled 7.01 from the 7.01 disc, it did read from the cdrom. So, now I'm going to install 8.04 from the 8.04 nero burnt disc.
If I don't respond back, here, then everythinig worked well and no more help is needed. Thanks!

One correction: It's 7.10, not 7.01 :-P
The version numbers of the Ubuntu versions are "year.month", so 7.10 came out in October (10) 2007. It's pretty old. I'd go for either 8.04 LTS or 9.04 - 8.04 being a "Long Term Support" version and 9.04 being the newest one.
But it's your call. ^^
Greetings,
Nepomuk

I did use 8.04 as I had to do a fresh install anyways. The only reason why I was going to use 7.10 was to replace the missing pool folder so that maybe I could just upgrade to 8.04. Silly really.
