Dear Friends,

For intel's core2 duo processor which debian I want to install? is it ia64?

If it's not an intel Itanium 64 bit processor, you won't need ia64. Check this for a bit more information. I can have a more detailed look later to help you decide.

OK, I checked again and it seems you can choose either the i386 version if you want to have a 32 bit System or the amd64 for a 64 bit one. (I know, it's no AMD processor, but there you go.) The Core2Duo will support either. The ia64 however will probably not work at all, so stay away from that unless you know what you're doing. It's for the Itanium series, which the core2duos aren't part of.

Mind you, you can always install a different kernel when the system is up and running.
