i want calculate in micro soft access main form by sub form

I've been having trouble with this for a long time. I have a form
that has many subforms. In the subforms I have rate 5% Currency boxes in
the sub form that sum a field. I want to Display this sum on the main
form for each subform . In a book I
have it gives the following example:
= sum «Expr» [Part Pur 5% Detail]![Rate 5%]
sub form name is :- Part Pur 5% Detail
