Hi

I use Ubuntu 7.04 64-bit with python 2.5. I have been trying out different editors recently, and my favourites are PyDev (Eclipse), SciTE and gvim.

Thanks, guys. Perhaps, as Ubuntu users become more populous on this forum, some installation, etc question will be solved more quickly. Sharing experience is are really good thing, but all my experience is on "another" platform.

Welcome.

I'm using Python 2.5.

I use Vista and Ubuntu Feisty on my desktop and Ubuntu Feisty on my laptop. I like Idle, VIM, and Gedit. I use Glade and TK for GUIs.

Well it did ask me to close windows explorer for me to complete the installation and I thought that was absurd and simply clicked the ignore button.
list comprehension? What would it contain?

Python 2.4.3 on Ubuntu linux 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake).

I use Gedit to edit the scripts. I have Pida and IDLE installed, but find Gedit easier to use.

Welcome, elbin. If you have plans to develop full applications on Windows, I can help get you set up with some very cool tools.

Well, I'm not into full applications yet, apart from an RLRPG ;) I do bioinformatics mostly, "simple" scripts for strings, regular expressions, MySQL, that sort of thing. Sometimes when some idea gets into my head I try to do it (like the always-on-top), but that's more like learning the language...

Hi wildjack. I'm very interested in feedback on Boa 0.6. I've yet to try switching for 0.5.2 (right in the middle of a big project), but would do it if I heard a few more positive experiences getting the installation to work.

Welcome to the community.

Running Windows XP, but I don't think you'll have heard of this one

Using CyanIDE, this is the IDE and compiler suite for the Cyan Techonologies eCOG1 processor platform. It has a built in Python interpreter and uses it as a macro language and also to control important things like downloading images to the platform.

As such I don't know what version of Python it is because having scoured the documentation that does not seem to be mentioned.

Windows XP

I am not sure which version of Python - I am trying to write a script for HEC-DSSVue (version 1.2.10). Available documentation indicates that HEC-DSSVue uses the Jython implementation.
