encrypting json columns and json indexes

Simply put, I have been storing json data in bytea's with the data encrypted.

Now, I would like to take advantage of 9.3's ability to have json indexes, but presume that encryption / indexes simply won't work. If anyone knows how to do this, or can confirm that it can't be done, then please advise.
