I'd like to start learning PHP.

I'm confident in programming several other languages, so I don't
necessarily want a dummy's guide.

Can someone recommend a few books and links on the web?

Doing a search on the net bris back TOOOO many results, hence my
asking.

I also want to learn mySQL. Any recommendations there also would be
appreciated.

Thanks.

re: Need some recommended books for PHP.

My two favorites are
PHP and MySQL Web Development by Luke Welling & Laura Thomson 3rd
edition
PHP 5 and MySQL by Jason Gilmore
They give you a quick introduction to PHP and MySQL but also cover
advanced topics. You can find them at amazon.com
