Pros/Cons of turning off error warnings?

What would be the pros/cons of turning off error warnings in the website pages like below? What are peoples opinions on this approach?

You should only really have error reporting on during the development phase. After that you should consider logging errors to a file.

Yeah, errors shouldn't be coming up on your published site for others to see, but you need to hear about errors as soon as possible so you can fix 'em. Email is the best way so you don't have to check the log file (which is also good to have) every day.
