The only person I know from this forum (and off this forum, for that matter) that has gotten the Zend Cert is Pbmobs.

Wait until he's around.

re: Books For PHP Certification

Heya, Abhijit.

Zend publishes their own PHP 5 certification resource. As much as I love to bash it, it's actually pretty good, especially the database, XML and streaming stuff.

However, it is definitely NOT worth the $33 they want for it. See if your local library has a copy (http://www.zend.com/en/store/php-cer...on/study-guide).

I also strongly recommend you check out Zend's online practice exams (http://www.zend.com/en/store/php-cer...actice-testing). These are definitely worth it and will give you a very good feel for what kind of questions are on the actual exam.

If you're planning on attending ZendCon '08 this year (and I envy you if you are!) they are offering free training and certification exams as well (http://www.zendcon.com/ZendCon08/public/content/home).

re: Books For PHP Certification

Heya pbmods,
Thanks for your help. No need to envy me, I have just started my IT career this year as a junoir PHP-MYSQL programmer. I decided to get myself certified as soon as possible because my PM has compelled me to go for it. I am also a Sun Certified Java Programmer and a Sun Certified Web Componenent Developer. But I like working in PHP the most. BTW,Can you guide me about the conference in September in CA?

Regards,
Abhijit

I wish. It should be a lot of fun, but I'm just not going to be able to take the time off ):

If you're not already, make sure you're registered by September 10 (http://www.zendcon.com/ZendCon08/public/content/reg). Early registration was back in June, but you can still save a little bit compared to what you'd have to pay at the door.

They're hosting "tutorials", which you'd probably have no need to attend; they're pretty basic PHP lessons. The actual certification training and testing takes place during the conference itself.
