I am going to use Ioncube or Zend compiler/encoder to deploy PHP5
applications on servers at customers premisses. The factors that affect
choice are:

- reliability
- easy of deployment at Apache/UNIX, Apache Windows and IIS/Windows
- price

Performace is not important

What would you recommend ?

Hi DG,

I haven't used Ioncube, but I have been using the Zend stack for some
time on various platforms without a problem and would recommend it.
Simply, it just works. We have both Solaris/Apache machines and
Windows IIS with no problems.

Hope this helps,

Steve

I can say the same as ELINTPimp said, but about ioncube.
It works... Guess it is the same as Zend encoder - you just loading it as Zend
extension and encoded files now executed like they are plain text ones.

I also know, that Ioncube have some advantages, like expiration time for
encoded files. (trial period f.e.)

Thanks. So, it is Ioncube, since it costs one third of Zend's price.

I believe Zend Guard is sold on ANNUAL license of $600. Check here:
http://www.zend.com/en/store/software/guard

Can get pricy!
