CSS Help

Yeah, I know. This isn't a CSS group. But I just checked my News
Server, and there doesn't appear to be a CSS group..

That said...

I'm about to drop a really bad practice (using tables to format my
pages) and do it the *right* way, through css.

My question is simple. Howzatwork?

And exactly what is wrong with alt.html.css? Or even alt.html?

CSS has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with PHP.

There is nothing wrong with alt groups. Although there isn't a lot of
traffic in alt.html.css and alt.html is better. It covers CSS, also.

And there is no change in the way PHP operates depending on whether you
use CSS or not.

My server doesn't seem to carry alt.html.css.
I went to the the comp. newsgroup instead.

Unfortunately, the only fellow responding there is not very helpful.
He just keeps telling me that I should learn the stuff.

What did you suspect? You did not specify your problem. What is it?
You know nothing about CSS? You want to convert tables to divs? You
want to find the best practice to build your webpage? You want to
learn about incompatibility of some browsIErs? Or what?

Specify your problem or.. learn the stuff :P

If you want, you may try to ask on pl.comp.www - they may help you
with CSS.

Because he asked the equivalent of 'can you tell me how to get a social
networking site in PHP'. Usenet is quite the same anywhere, everybody
likes to see at least an attempt at the goal in a broad question.

Actually, no.

Asking how to convert my table layouts to divs was a very
straight-forward question.

In fact, the ONE feller who responded with code gave me good stuff.

But then... for some reason... there were a lot of trolls like you -
angry that someone posted a question.

You didn't ask for my help, but I recommend SSRI's - although some folks
prefer pot or alchol. Either way - PLONK.
