PEAR installation problem.

Can anyone tell me what could cause the error below?

which linux platform are you working currently? i suggest you to do an online PEAR install..

pear install <package name>

I'm trying to install on free.fr where i have web space. I think it is a problem where I haven't got authority to install. I rum the go pear PHP installer. The packages download but the installer will not run. I'm not sure if I can run the installation by logging on securely. I am new to this and have a lot to learn!

By the way I'm trying to get KGroups installed and the only thing thats missing on the server is PEAR.
