Hello. The account activation e-mails that I am sending to users who have
registered at my site are getting filtered by spam blocking SW. However,
some are getting through, but only 1 of 100 or so. Here is an e-mail with
full header that was blocked by Yahoo! (below that will be one that did not
go through). Please help. Thanks.

This one got by the spam filter:

Your IP address is blacklisted in several anti-spam databases:

re: Spam filtering e-mail

Thanks. How do I go about fixing this? Am I out of luck if I am sharing a
server with others at my hosting company and they are spamming? Thanks.

If you are responsible for the spamming associated with that IP, you
should clean your act.

Still, it is probably faster to switch from hosting providers.
SPEWS/spews.org: 199.231.130/24: 553 SPEWS2 [2] Paul
Mentesidis/WebFills/rxmedicals/palmnet, see http://spews.org/ask.cgi?S1958
No surprises to find your IP address is denied from _MANY_ servers with
the names 'Paul Mentesidis' and 'rxmedicals' listed above.

From SPEWS evidence file, this snippet:

1, 199.231.130.19, Paul Mentesidis / www.rx-online-store.com / reliable-rx
/ yourmedstore.com (dead?)

2, 199.231.130.0/24, expresstech.net (Paul
Mentesidis/www.rx-online-store.com / reliable-rx / yourmedstore.com)

The listing that appears to cover the IP assigned to you appears to be a
level 2 listing, which should really be "watch" not "block".

Also see SpamHaus' page relating to this at:

<http://www.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings.lasso?isp=expresstech.net>

Paul seems to have been listed on '23-Jun-2003 11:08 GMT' which would
suggest top me that expresstech.net have no intentions of kicking the
spammer.. so you have 3 options IMO:

1:> Get expresstech.net to remove _all_ spammers / spammer associated
activity

2:> Smarthost your outgoing mail.

3:> Move to a more responsible provider.

Any one hosting a ROKSO listed spammer really needs their heads read IMO.

This appears to be not your fault, rather the IP assigned to you falls
into the /24 block listed by SPEWS etc.. but the _ONLY_ people who can get
that netblock out of the blacklists is expresstech.net.

HTH =)

Regards,

Ian

PS: #3 above is preferable.. as currently, you're helping to fund a
spam-supporting service.

Short Answer: "Yes!"
Long Answer: Your view of the known universe will only get smaller.
