condone
v : excuse, overlook, or make allowances for; be lenient with;
"excuse someone's behavior"; "She condoned her husband's
occasional infidelities" [syn: {excuse}]

No, that's a genetic difference. Americans, in general, see in
*color*. Europeans, in general, see in *colour*. An object does
not have to have the same color as it does colour, and cheap printer
inks are notorious for this. It is possible to give someone a
T-shirt which appears to Europeans to say "God **** the Queen" and
which appears to Americans to say "Bush doesn't suck", thereby
assuring that they get beat up by either.

Except that in the UK the T shirt would be ironic.
