|OT| Open source user network application?

I'm in need of alumni application; I can write one, but I'm running
out of time. Googled and also searched in SF
<http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_of_search=soft&exact=1&forum_id=0&group_id=0 &atid=0&words=php%20alumni&Search=Search>.
But, couldn't find anything what I really wanted: forum, internal
messaging system, view profiles, posting news/job, etc. So, I'd thought
of customizing any existing applications that is easy to customize.
While searching I came across drupal:
http://drupal.org/node/32410, drupal seems to be easy to add other
modules say Privatemsg <http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/privatemsg>
and Profile <http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/profile>; I suppose,
the blog feature has to be disabled. RoundCube Webmail
<http://roundcubemail.sourceforge.net/> seem also can be integrated
with drupal.

I think, I have searched extensively on this. Anyway, I would like
to confirm if drupal is the right choice? Anyone know of any better
alumni application or easily customizable (to alumni) application? TIA.

Simple, if you don't want to answer the OT questions, just create a
filter and make sure you don't read. If you reply, make sure you read
it before you answer.

Simple. Ask your questions in an appropriate newsgroup.

This newsgroup is for questions about PHP - not your personal
information service for anything you would like to ask.

If you're too lazy to find an appropriate newsgroup for your question,
why should anyone here take any time to answer it?

Simple. You can't find it is as a PHP or PHP related question--as
you haven't done anything such and don't have exposure to the topic.
So, you better keep your mouth shut.

The question is not meant for you. If anyone has exposure to the
topic and willing to help me, they'll do so. I don't want your answer.

Try phpbb, it has all the features you are talking about.

So, I repeat - what is your PHP question?

I have a lot of exposure to PHP - several years worth, actually.

So - ask in an appropriate group. This is not your personal "I want my
question answered" newsgroup.

Thanks for the suggestion. But, IMHO, phpbb is more of forum and
it's a pain when we have to customize to an alumni network application.
As you have suggested, I'll once again closely look at the mods. Thanks
again.
