I have the CDs for version 10.1 Enterprise Edition and have successfully installed them. I want to upgrade to 10.2. When I bought the CDs the people at Oracle said it was just a patch to upgrade to 10.2.

Does anyone know where I can get the patch to upgrade from 10.1 to 10.2? I hope it's not another full install. This is for the Solaris 64 bit version.

Thanks.

I do not believe you are going to find a patch to upgrade from 10.1
(Release 1) to 10.2 (Release 2). Generally what you would do is
install the new release into a separate ORACLE_HOME and migrate any
databases at Release 1 to Release 2.

1) This is the wrong forum - comp.databases.oracle is no longer in use and
has been replaced by comp.databases.oracle.server (as well as cdo.misc,
cdo.tools and cdo.marketplace )

2) When Oracle makes a point release available, there is usually a
significant functionality change and that usually means a full install
(into a new Oracle Home). I personally do not remember a patch to upgrade
a point release in the past twenty years.

3) You have CDs which almost implies a Support Contract. If so, check
your support contract - in many cases the upgrade (including S&H) is free
for the asking with a valid contract.
