Hi,

I have a LAN (~10 computer) working behind a netgear router. And then I have a couple of internal webpages. Now, for example, if somebody opens http://www.company-wiki.com in his browser, I want the request to go to one of the internal servers which has wikipedia installed on it rather than it searching for the webpage on the Internet.

I know how to do it for each client computer, but I want to do some settings with the router so I can add or delete such internal domains in future.

Thanks :)

Does your router have a DNS server running on it? Do you have a DNS server running on your network?

Point your router's DNS resolution address to your internal DNS server then you can create your own records. Make your company DNS server update from your normal DNS server so that people can still access other websites.

Are you running a windows network? I think this can all be done automatically by the AD if you have NetBIOS and your computer names resolve properly. This can also be done with Samba if you want to go that route.
