How do I enable the USB connection?

Right now I'm using the Ethernet, but I am trying to use the USB connector.
The problem is the USB (actiontec gateway as it's labeled) needs to be installed. No big deal right? Well... I've tried that. It searches for the software and at the end it says, "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software."

Any ideas?

That's not much information, but I'll try to help. In future, please give more detail. (For example, which operating system (often some version of MS Windows) are you using?)

So, which model number does that gateway have? This document might help you find it. When you've found it, go to this page and select your model. Download the USB Driver from there and install it. Then your connection should work over USB.
