We have server 2003, using computer management, system tools, shared folders, sessions, some of the computers show up as an IP address others show the computer name. How can I show the computer name on all of them?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

re: Computer Management sessions question

All PC's have a name and are on the domain, some display the IP address and some display the name. The name format is XXXXXXXXX.YYYYYY. "X's" are the computer name and "Y's" are the domain name they are attached too.

Guess I don't under stand your reply
"Right click on "My Computer" Icon and then click on the "Computer Name""

I have names on allt he PC's already.

Thanks for your response.

I was telling you how to find out the computer name.

But apparently i don't understand your question.

Are you trying to view all the computer names on your net work at once?

Can't you go to "MyNetworkPlaces" and view your network along with all the computers that are attached to it?

Yes That works.

My original reason for using COMPUTER MANAGEMENT was to see who is signed in on a given computer. Sometimes I get a call from a user with a problem and I need to see what computer they are using.

If you thing of any way to do what I want drop an email email removed per posting guidelines

Thanks for you help.

re: Computer Management sessions question

I will do that.

For future information don't post your e-mail address. If you want to share you address with another user, PM it to them. You are opening your self up to a lot of things if you post it like that.

I will get the mod of this forum to remove it.
