what does 16.140.25 signify?
only host portion or something else

its in the host portion still,

172.16.140.25,

i wonder how di you find out that it belongs to the class B?,
heres the idea, if you know how to say its class, tehn you probably would know where does the host ends , and the node ends, right?


172.16.140.25 is in class B yes,
because it falls to 172 right, now if its class B, then where does the host address ends?,

Its in the second octet (8 bits) coming from 172 or
172.16 = is a host node...
