Smart Card Resource Manger

I'm getting an Error 1068 Dependency group or service failed to start. I've
checked on the Smart Card Resource Manager and the service is set to
automatic, all other dependencies are also running. Suggestions? I'm
running a HP Pavillion zv5000, Windows XP.
