I am trying to develop an app that will automate my own stock transactions. This means that, among other things, it needs to access the bank's web page, log into my own account, and place a buy or sell order. No problems with the bank; I will be using my own account so this is not illegal, I just want my machine to do the work.
The problem is to log in. Somehow I need to emulate a human being who surfs to a web page and clicks on a known link on that web page. Obviously there are other ways to automate one´s bank communications, but this is the way I am trying to do it - among other reasons, because I cannot afford expensive broker services.
So can anyone give me some advice? How do you let a program (standalone or aspx) surf to a foreign page and click on a known link?
