GNU Scientific Libraries in MDE 7.1

I have tried to use the GNU Scientific Libraries (GSL) with MDE 7.1
But I get the message

error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _gsl_sort_largest referenced in function _mai

This set of libraries work fine with Visual C++ 6.0

Could you please tell me how I can run these libraries in MDE 7.1
