Enterprise Instrumentation and Windows Trace Session Manager

I have installed the Microsoft Enterprise Instrumentation
framework and have installed the samples. I have events
successfully being logged to the Application Event Log
using the Simple Instrumentation Sample Application.

I cannot however get the TraceEventSink to log them, even
though the Windows Trace Session Manager service is
running. Nothing shows up in the Trace Log.

My environment is as follows:
Windows XP Professional, SP1
Visual Studio .NET 2003

I have read the readme and see no documented issues that
would cause an issue.

Thanks!

Hi there,

A better newsgroup to post this question on is
microsoft.public.vsnet.enterprise.tools

The problem is probably in the configuration.
Did you enable the trace log session in the TraceSessions.config file?
If you cant get this to work - check the Windows Event Log (Application
log) for errors.

If it still doesnt work, reply with the EnterpriseInstrumentation.config
and TraceSessions.config files that you are using and I'll try and figure
it out for you.

Cheers

Mike
