Workbench 6.2 works but odbc connection failed with connection errors?

1
Dear All,

I have a strange problem. I have a Synology NAS server with SQL databases. When connecting from my client workstation with mysql workbench 6.2 CE it all works perfect and could access the database. Sometimes I have to execute flush-hosts but then again access granted. User previleges on database set '%'. Also telnet 3306 works fine and firewall on workstation allows port 3306. But when I try to setup a ODBC connection to use with excel for example I could not connect whatever I try?

Help would be appriciated

Thanks Michiel
