Multiple charsets in same table?

Hello!
I have developed an internet application in PHP/mySQL which is now
getting internationalised and will start to contain information from
contries like Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic etc. I'm having trouble
with the charset as the table which until now has been holding all the
information is in latin1 but I now need to switch to an eastern
european one as well. Is there a possibility of making a table use two
charsets at the same time? Has anyone else stumbled across this
problem? Any obvious solutions?
