Greetings,

As a computing student I've never really taken much interest in how technology works.

Im more interesting in providing solutions to problems using programming languages/applications. I Like to analysis, design, test and implement solutions.

Which leads me onto my module which is about desigining an XML E-Commerce solution for a company and the collabrating delivery firm.

My Company has XML data on an XML server for an order -> Which then needs to find itself on a rugged PDA.

XML -> HTTP -> GPRS -> PDA ??

The feedback of information needs to be two way, so the rugged PDA is used to transmit data back once XML data is modified.

I need a HIGH level explanation of how this is achieved via which technologies. The rest of the module was pure XML design elements so didnt struggle like Im now.

Can someone please give me a help hand and make some suggestons?
I can then go away and the do some research.

If your company is willing to invest, Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite for Windows Mobile devices/Mobile Phones using their file sync facility seems perfect.

I am a Nokia Certified Mobile Master so if you require further information on this please feel free to PM me

re: Guidance for a E-Commerce Delivery solution

Well i made a conceptual diagram for the whole process.

With the techonologies available does this look workable?
The PDA's will be used throughout Europe and the servers located in the UK.
Are there any glaring mistakes of technologies or details missing?

Cheers
Rob
