I just ran into this problem today, seven months later
I checked the size of the CSS file I was using when DW crashed and, sure enough, 8K! (I didn't check the exact size.)
I added some comments using Notepad, and now DW works!
You'd think Adobe would have fixed something like this by now. I just bought CS3 a couple of months ago.
