Learn various programming languages

Hi,
Can anybody tell me what is the best approach to learn a new programming language. I started my career with vb3 then came vb4 then vb5,vb6 etc. I did ASP, now is .net in the market. Companies want C#,,java with .net.
Please tell me how would I learn new langauges with ease. Tommorow if new software is brought by microsoft then that will be hot and i will have to learn that to keep pace with the market.
