you may have a look at some js-ajax-libraries ... for example extjs or yahoo widgets or something like that. have a look at their demos and you find an api-doc there too ...

such frameworks often include widgets that may fullfill your needs. in case you want to create your own ... then please post some code you already have and explain what you want to add, or fix or whatever problem you have with your code.
