Calculate Number of bytes for incoming message on a particular port

Hi,
I have a requirement where i am required to calculate number of bytes arriving on particular port that is open and used by a particular device to send data.

I am wondering if i can get some utility method or some api that can help me to achieve this.

Thanks in Advance.
