Hi All!

We are generating about 80 MB a day of IIS logs and space issues are apparent.

Is there an intelligent document or strategy to trimming these, or choosing a different format? We are currently using the W3C format. Is there anything more compact?

re: Huge IIS Logs

Here is an article that may help you:
Log File Formats in IIS (IIS 6.0)

You may have many extended logging options that you don't need. Reduce these and reduce the size of your log files. Another option would be to use ODBC and store the info in a DB.

Using ODBC is not always recommended, may create performance hit. One alternative is the Log Parser Tool, which is used to push log files to sql server after they have been created. HTH.

You may also look into Urchin to manage your logs. It can archive logs, automatically delete old ones, etc.
