Hi,

I have developed and ASP.NET web-based application and ofcourse, I have created a virtual directory. I can access my developed web-application from my machine (i.e. locally); but unable to access from other machines in a LAN. The web-server is a win xp (media center) platform. Do I have to make any additional configuration changes (with respect to IIS or any)? It was easier and straight-forward, when I used to work in ASP with windows 2000 professional and windows 98 at some time ago. What I am missing on this occasion? Do I necessarily have to create an msi for this web application and deploy on a server operating system? I assume that, any network operating system can be a web server provided it has got IIS. I would be extremely obliged for help in this regard.

re: "Cannot find server or DNS error"

moved to IIS forum. Although there is some overlap, the asp forum focuses on classic ASP, not ASP.NET, regardless, I think this is an IIS issue.

Welcome to TSDN. You assumption is not quite correct, but I'm sure that you want do this properly and have a dedicated server for the application(s). Probably either a failure to connect to database or a dns prob. Can you view an html page?
