Menu comes to center after adding images or text.

Hi all
I am developing a web site, i am using tables in html. i have left hand side menu. On home page it remains properly at the top but on other pages as the height of the page increases due to adding pics and text the menu comes in center according to the page. Wat should i do for that, shall i make it that thing in photoshop and and paste it as back ground.
please guide. It giving me lot of headach. Its very urgent.

If you using table for the menu, have you used valign?
