I am not sure I am in the right place, but here is my question if I
am.
I would like to insert a hyperlink into a MS Outlook email that when
clicked on will insert a bookmark into the clickers IE.

Can this be done and if so how?

Thx

Since it isn't about authoring HTML for the WWW, it is somewhat off-topic.

Well IF they are using Outlook and IF they are using IE, then Outlook's
security MIGHT be lax enough to achieve something like that - but I doubt
it.

Just provide a regular URL. Many email clients convert it to a hyperlink
automatically, the rest generally don't support links in the first place
and the user can copy/paste. Once it is open in their regular browser,
whatever that may be, then they can bookmark it using their usual
technique.

It's not related to HTML authoring for the WWW, so no.

You are making some very wild assumptions that you shouldn't be making:

1. The user is using Outlook.
2. The user uses IE as their web browser.
3. The user wants the link to be bookmarked.
4. You have some control over the user's system.

Assumptions 1 to 3 are very likely to be *incorrect* in many cases.
Assumption 4 is *always* incorrect.

No, but you can e-mail a link which the user may choose to visit and may
choose to bookmark.
