What does ###### mean and how do you get rid of it?

I have the made the cell much bigger so all text (not using numbers)fits but as soon as I leave the cell it looks like this ##########

I assume you're using Microsoft Excel? If so, what's the contents of that cell? Excel will show those hash symbols in several cases; one is indeed when the entry is too long for the contents but it also shows them on other errors, such as broken formulae.
