DB2 SNMP Support on V8

Dear all,

I've been looking for some info on the snmp support provided by DB2 UDB
V8.1. Just 1 line, and 2 references in the index, when the V7.1
Troubleshooting guide had a complete paragraph.

Can I presume the snmp support is offered by V8, and if yes, on which
platforms exactly - is it supported on Linux/Intel and Z ?

Btw, with what pdf did this usefull troubleshooting guide merge in V8.1 ?

Regards,

Jean-Marc

Sorry, we dropped SNMP support in v8. The references to it will be
removed in the next edition of the manuals. They were left in there by
mistake. The trouble shooting info moved mainly into the Admin Guide.
You can search on troubleshooting here to get most of the info:

Blair, thanks for your quick answer, I did not find anything telling about
such a drop in the V8 release note.
And a replacement solution would be to use the health monitor with some
notifications ?

There's no direct replacment for SNMP - but yes, Health Alerts are the
way to go.
