how make active new toshiba satellite laptop battery

I bought Toshiba Satellite C50-A299 and charge it for half hour and unfortunately the power is off then continue using with it. After that, when it is on charge, the charge indicator on laptop seem full; but when unplug the charger, the power of the laptop is off immediately. How can I reactivate this new Toshiba Satellite battery.
