Are there really so few Coldfusion users or do they not come here at thescripts.com opting instead for dedicated forums/lists such as houseoffusion, etc.?

I probably shouldn't hold my breath waiting for a reply!

It's just a matter of getting people in here that will answer and help others out. If you know of any good CF developers that want to help, let them know.

I actually meant users in general, not experts. In other forums, such as javascript, PHP, Java, HTML, etc. there are many posts a day, but CF is probably not that popular a development language. Well, it's not free unlike its counterparts which might explain it.

That's one possibility. Another is something we've also experienced in other forums. The more good answers that get posted particularly to common questions the more users find the forum and use it.

Another good way of attracting more users to a site is to post some Tutorials on commonly asked questions. This has been done very successfully in some of the other forums. Members can post their favourite piece of code in a thread and give it a title containing words or phrases that users commonly search for.

I should explain that the sites current search engine is google and the titles of threads are all important to that search facility.

Good idea. A bit like a blog with replies as comments.

Different forums handle it differently. Have a look at the threads at or near the top of the Access, C++/C, Java and Visual Basic. This should give you some idea.
