HELLO,

I know that such a question existed on bytes.com a few days ago but I cannot locate it now (I forgot to subscribe to the thread and therefore I'm posting this question again).

I recently got "C++ Primer" by Stanley B. Lippman, Josse Lajoie, Barbara E. Moo. (image below)

Do you think it is right book for me? If not then which book should I prefer?

Let me tell you that I'm an ABSOLUTE newbie to C++ (I dont know anything about C++).

THANKS in advance................

I know and agree of course that books are important , but personal understanding or reception of the facts being brought to you by books are more impotant .I find books written by Richie and Herbert to be informative .

Herbert Schildt is only in it for the money: his books on C and C++ are all utter
crap full of blatant errors. I hope he didn't put any nonsense on paper concerning
any other programming languages. Poor trees.

kind regards,

Jos
