Filtering a Crystal report does the complete opposite . . .

CodeNoobster
Hi everyone

I'm currently creating an app which utilizes crystal reports and I would like to make it much more user friendly by allowing the user to enter a name and then populate the report with the relevant info.

how ever the report has no data what so ever.

I have tried several methods to this which include:
-filter the crystal report programmatically
-using the formula workshop and defining parameters and then hard coding it.

to no avail.

however when I use the "select export record" wizard,
it produces the desired result but my intended users may not like it as they are new to computing(that initial window that is shown when the report is loaded asking the user to select).

Could it be the fact that I am using an access database? or am I missing something? Or perhaps I am not creating my parameters or formulas correctly?

Suggestions or ideas Anyone?

Thanks in advance . . .
