Font Formatting not appearing in e-mail

Hi,
I am designing mail application. In that message body is in textbox. If i change the font size,color and style in the textbox using dropdownlist, it is changing in the textbox. But, in the mail it receives in the default fontsize,color and style..... Please suggest me solution to solve this problem....

How are you sending the e-mail? Are you sending it is normal text of html?
