Question about encrypted asp forms.

If I have an asp form that generates an email and the email that is
generated is unencrypted, how is that resolved.

Is it coding added to the form?
Is it the server security settings?

What dictates encryption?

Sorry if this is a stuid question, but I am completely clueless.
