I find that strange: you don't know what the steps are but you suspect additional steps. My suggestion is that you do some research first and then ask again.

Confused. You are talking about purely mathematical steps, and not any steps dependent on look up tables? So you are looking for the steps besides, call up the server and ask if the credit card number is valid, correct?

The validation steps I know is Luhn's algorithm and the format of brands of each credit card.
