How to restrict other users from changing already loaded data and give permissions to

I have Access 2003 form which saves data to SQL database. I have a field called Fee Category ranging from N1 to N7. Officers can add the Fee category and save upon creation, by they still come and change it without the proper approval. I want to lock the combobox and only allow managers to change it. Again this field is integrated with another system that automatically updates the Fee category.

How do you plan to identify who a manager is? Is there a security system already set up? Is it the Windows log on?

I cant attach the file, but the profiles on the system are created with their position as Data Capturer, Account Managers or Compliance Offers and so on.. I planing to use that position to identify who can change data in the combobox
