License expiry date check on an access program

4
Hi, i wrote a program in access and i would like to implement a yearly license renewal... i would like to ask if there is any function that can make the program check the online date and compare it with the activation date so it can determinate if is expired or not.

Thanks in advance

shydan,

This is a very simple query that you are asking about. What have you tried so far? let us see your work so we can point you in the right direction.

i haven't tried anything so far, i'm a new selfmade programmer so i dunno every aspect of it all :) btw i just want the program to store the activation date (when the serial i gave is inserted in the program)and when the program is lunched it compare the stored one to the online one.
I hope i've been clear :S

We can't build your database for you. I understand that you are new to DB programming, and that is fine. But, just realize that you must put forth an effort of trying to learn about Databases first, and give a reasonable try before we can/will assist you.

There are numerous sources for MS Access Tutorials, to include the MS Northwind Database which provide numerous examples of a basic design.

Bottom line: We would love to help and assist where we can, and your solution is very simple. But if you don't know even the absolute basics of DB design and query building, then you should start with the basics before asking for project solutions.

Please don't think I am being short or dismissive. We would love for you to use Bytes as a source for your learning, but the experts on this forum will not do your work for you. We will trouble shoot your errors and offer advice on better designs, when feasible.

I understand what you mean but the program is already done as my "colleague" wrote that down but he can't figure out that at the moment because he has some serius personal problems so i wanted to progress on it so i can release it :)

Do you know how to build a query? Create a query that pulls all records that have an activation date that is more than a year old.

That is where you should start. If your query does not return the records you wish, then you post the query string here and we would be glad to look at it and help you find a solution that works!

:-)
