Office 2007 - Gathering information each time I open an application

I have installed Office 2007 Ultimate onto my Windows Vista laptop. The install was successfull but each time I open an office app such as word or access, I get a Gathering information and preparing to install message come up, then the app opens. It is not stopping the app from working but it is annoying.

I have looked into the event viewer anf I get the following errors:

Detection of product '{91120000-002E-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'WORDFiles' failed during request for component '{0638C49D-BB8B-4CD1-B191-051E8F325736}'

Detection of product '{91120000-002E-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}', feature 'ProductFiles', component '{98CB24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}' failed. The resource '' does not exist.

with eventid's of 1001 and 1004.

Can somebody help me to identify what this problem is and how to fix it.

If you have Windows Vista, then right-click on an Office program
shortcut, choose to run the Office program as Administrator, accept the
EULA, close the Office program, and then start the Office program normally.

If the previous suggestion doesn't help, then see

Thanks for your reply. I don`t think that it is the EULA message appearing as there is no option for me to accept. I get a message say that Office 2007 is gathering information and once that has finished the office app opens.

I have tried right-clicking on the office app and running as administrator, firstly this option is not available from the shortcut icons on the start menu, and secondly I have tried this in the Office12 folder in the C drive and I still get the same message.

I've only noticed that on PCs where more than one version of Office is installed at the same time.

Sometimes people install two where the versions are the same, like Office 2003 Professional & Office 2003 Premium and Word my be from one while Access is from another. Even though they are logically the same packages, because the Office system likes to know what's going on it seems to get confused.

Try uninstalling all versions then re-adding only the one (assuming of course this is your problem).

I did have Office 2003 installed, but I uninstalled this before installing office 2007. My laptop did come with a trial version of Office 2007 already loaded, I wondered whether this was also causing an issue, although I did also uninstall this.

Were they all fully uninstalled and cleared down before you installed Office 2007 Ultimate.

If not, then it may still be worth trying that. A reboot after the uninstalls would help to be sure.

How do you mean cleared down? I uninstalled all of the Office programs and did a restart before I installed Office 2007 Ultimate.

That should be all you need. If that didn't fix it then I'm out of ideas, for now at least.

Do you install and run the applications while logged in as administrator?

i installed office 2007 while logged in a me with admin rights. But I selected the Run As Administrator option from the setup.exe file on the instal disc.
