Hi I am the administrator of my db and when I try to open it I get the following message;

'You do not have the necessary permissions to use the db2.mdb object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you.'

I have searched the internet and on here and have found some useful advice which I have executed, but I still can't get into my db.

I have full permission set everywhere.
I read about workgroups and a file called system.mdw but I have tried joining these groups and still no luck!!

Can anyone help me, please?!!
Thanks
Craig

re: Unable to access access

This is not a problem with Access. The problem is your permissions with the computer account from which you access your computer. Talk to your IT people, let them know you can't access your files.

re: Unable to access access

I know it's not a problem with access. I have spoken to our IT dept and they say all the permissions are currently set, they are not MS Access specific. Is there anywhere else I should look for setting permissions.
I have read a lot about groups but I haven't created one?

Can someone quickly explain the difference between system.mdw and security.mdw.
I have 2 system.mdw files on my pc and neither I join work.
Help, please.
I know its me, but how/why??? Argghh!
