Formatting phone number in Access Report

I have a report with the following paragraph:
="This BA presents a " & [EffectName] & " determination for the " & [CommonName] & " and associated habitat. We would appreciate you processing the biological opinion by " & [AdvancPlanDate] & ". If you have any questions, please contact ODOT Biologist " & [RegContact] & ", " & [ContPhone] & ", " & [RegEmail] & ". "

The problem is that the phone number [ContPhone] is showing up without any formatting, even though I saved it to the underlying table with the formatting. Since I can not select just the field in the paragraph, it will not allow me to apply formatting to it in the report.

Any ideas???
