Bitmap images no longer visible

I have a networked Access split database which has been around for
about 4 years. One table stores the path to bitmap images. This past
week, one of the 3 clients lost the ability to display these bitmap
images (viewing the tabe from this machine, the path to the bitmap is
blank) and also the sound card died. I am fairly certain that the
motherboard or powersupply are going (The sound card died at the same
time and I also burned up an IDE cable and sound card about 2 months
ago) but I don't see how only the OLE server could develop problems in
the DB. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Access to no avail. Any
ideas?

thanks,

Z

Go to the desktop, right-click and choose Properties, then Settings |
Advanced | Troubleshoot, then move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the
left, apply it, and see if that helps.

Unfortunately, it did not help...

Did you keep moving it to the left, one setting at a time, until all
hardware acceleration was disabled?

I did, and it did not work unfortunately.
