Do you mean the Office 97 SP2 update, or the WinXP sp2 Update?
I have been sucessfully using the Office 97 SP2 update for years now and
saw no degrading of performance from it. You might want to try doing a
Decompile (on a Copy), a compact, compile, another compact.
I have clients running WinXP sp2 without any slowdowns. In fact it has
improved the performance of record inserts on the network BE as it has
better recordlocking collision avoidance abilities.
